SIHH2018 | IWC: The 150th Anniversary Celebration

IWC was founded in 1868 and is at its 150th anniversary this year. At this year's SIHH, all new IWC products revolve around this 150th anniversary memorial theme. The commemorative edition includes 28 limited edition watches including the IWC Portugal Series, Portofino Series, the Pilot's Watch Series and Da Vinci Series. Best cheap watches online, discover our affordable replica IWC Pilot watches collection. Wide range of luxury watches brands.

Of all the commemorative watches, the "Tribute to Waveward Bay" makes a lot of sense because it is the first watch in IWC's history to have a jump figure on a digital display. The dial design follows the early Waveweb pocket watch with the jump window at the top, the large minute window in the middle, and the small seconds in the bottom. All three are in a straight line layout with great retro beauty.

The one-minute dial of the Model 94200's self-powered movement is powered by a separate gear train system with a proprietary barrel. The release mechanism connected to the watch's own wheel train system is released every sixty seconds and then re-locked. After every 10 minutes, a minute of the disk will drive the ten-minute disk to move around. Every 60 minutes, the hour circle also jumps to the next hour's digital position. The power of the independent wheel train system will not affect the general wheel train system, to ensure accurate operation.

IWC re-introduced the Daventry series a year ago to reinterpret the classic circular design of the 1980s. Today, two more new members join the Da Vinci Series Commemorative Edition, a white or blue dial decorated with lacquerwork. One of DaVinci's 150th Anniversary Special Edition is equipped with a small second hand at 6 o'clock and is the first to use the new IWC 82200 homemade movement. In addition, IWC has also introduced the 36 "150th Anniversary" special edition of the Da Vinci Moon Phases Automatic Watch, with 206 diamonds in total for case and mobile lugs for a total of 2.26 carats.

Reviewing IWC Portofino Hand-Wound Moon Phase Edition 150 Years

IWC Portofino Hand-Wound Moon Phase Edition 150 Years, which was introduced as part of the Jubilee Collection at the 2018 SIHH. In all three timepieces, the crescent-shaped moon phase indication takes center stage at 12 o’clock. Matching the gold Jubilee Collection case, the hands are gold and the moon and stars likewise have a gold finish that works very well with the overall color scheme.

Positioned at 3 o’clock, it is very discreet but clearly readable. By contrast, the subsidiary seconds are quite prominent size-wise as befits a true Portofino timepiece. Not to be missed is the power reserve indicator at 9 o’clock. Although it is discreetly designed, its scale reveals the technical prowess of Caliber 59000, which boasts a generous power reserve of a full eight days https://www.twatchclone.ru/.
