Formal Chronograph Benchmark IWC Portugieser Chronograph

Although the IWC Portugieser series can be traced back to the 1930s, it was not until 1995 that the rattrapante model IW3712 was added for the first time. This work is equipped with a manual winding chronograph movement. The biggest feature is the 30-minute counter at 12 o'clock and the small seconds at 6 o'clock. These designs have laid the foundation for the subsequent works of the series. Buy top IWC Portugieser clone watches online, buy replica watches at twatchclone.ru. However, it is not the IW3712 that is really well-known to the majority of watch friends, but the IW3714 released in 1998. This watch has a diameter of 41 mm, equipped with a Cal. 79240 self-winding movement based on Valjoux 7750, and marked "AUTOMATIC" on the dial. The brand removed the week calendar module of the original Valjoux 7750 movement, making the layout of the dial basically consistent with that of the IW3712.

As the first self-winding stopwatch in the series, the IW371401 has been on the market for a long time, spanning more than ten years from its first appearance in 1998 to its discontinuation in 2011. Although the appearance of the watch has not changed during the period, the movement ushered in an upgrade: the early model was equipped with a Cal.79240 movement, and after 2007 it was upgraded to a Cal.79350 movement.

The most notable difference between the two movements is the color. The surface of the movement is changed to nickel-plated, which is in line with modern aesthetic habits. The engraving of the automatic rotor has also been changed from black to gold-filled, and some marking information has been simplified. In addition, the addition of blue steel screws brings the aesthetics to a higher level. Since its debut, the Cal.79350 movement has passed the test of time in terms of performance and stability. It was not until recently that it was gradually replaced by the 69-series self-produced movement.
