IWC launched the new Big Pilot IWC-Racing Works special edition (model IW501019), paying tribute to the long history of the brand and motorsports. Following the start of cooperation with Mercedes-AMG in 2004, IWC has been the official engineering partner of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1™ Team since 2013. In 2018, IWC established its own antique car racing team IWC Racing. Visit the IWC concept stores in Zurich, Dubai and Shanghai to experience the world of motorsport.

The case, crown and case back of the Big Pilot “IWC Racing Works” special edition are made of grade 5 titanium. In the 1980s, IWC was the first to introduce this material to the watchmaking industry, creating the first watch with a titanium case and bracelet. Over the years, the brand has continued to expand the range of applications for this light and strong metal. Grade 5 titanium is about 45% lighter than stainless steel, yet strong and durable. Due to its extremely high strength-to-density ratio, the material is widely used in racing to manufacture parts for high-performance engines. In addition, titanium has skin-friendly and hypoallergenic properties. "IWC Racing Works" engraved on the titanium case back.

The blue dial with soft white hour markers complements the unique look of the 46.2mm titanium case. There is a date display at 6 o'clock and a power reserve display at 3 o'clock. Luminous hour markers and hands ensure legibility at night. The blue printed calfskin strap further highlights the sporty beauty of the watch. IWC-manufactured caliber 52110. This movement is equipped with a Pellaton automatic winding system, which can accumulate up to seven days of power reserve through two barrels.
