IWC Big Pilot's Watch AMG 63 (Model: IW501201) uses 18K Armor Gold® hard gold case and crown, with a diameter of 46.2 mm, a black dial and a black rubber strap with embedded microfiber. The black and gold two-tone design is inspired by the exterior paint and interior of the recently released Mercedes-AMG G 63 "Grand Edition" model.

Armor Gold® is an innovative alloy that takes the hardness of gold to a whole new level, making this relatively soft precious metal more resistant to external impacts. This special alloy is significantly harder and more resistant to wear and tear than traditional red gold. Thanks to its improved microstructure, the innovative material hard gold is much harder and more scratch-resistant than traditional red gold. The combination of sandblasted surfaces and polished edges gives this large pilot’s watch an elegant yet modern character.

IWC Big Pilot's Watch AMG G 63 (model: IW506201) is IWC's first timepiece using ceramic matrix composite (CMC). It has a diameter of 46.5 mm and was designed in cooperation with the German Aerospace Center (DLR). Unlike traditional carbon fiber-reinforced polymers, the matrix in which the fibers of this composite are embedded is a ceramic rather than a polymer.
